Hi Guys

A short blog today.

Just to let you know who’s on the Indie gig at the Swan ‘Cavern’  in Chorley  tonight.

The band Silver Kings are performing and Jordan Allen.

I am also passing on this message from your friendly proprietors Denise and Nick Hogan.

Can you all please remember we are having a few problems with the Licensing Officer and the Police over Thursday nights at the Swan.

The major issue at present is that some of the local residents have complained about the noise when people are leaving.

We don’t want to  have to end these great nights, so when you leave the Swan, can you please leave via the cobbled steps which has a hand rail and as quietly as possible. Thanks.

If you are not aware, Nick Hogan is the UKIP representative for the Area and one of  his co-party members Paul Nuttall is on BBC’s Question time tonight, so I will watch it later when I’m home.

Got a joke here for you.

A blonde, wanting to earn some money, decided to hire herself out as a handyman-type and started canvassing a wealthy neighbourhood. She went to the front door of the first house and asked the owner if he had any jobs for her to do.
“Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?” The blonde said, “How about 50 dollars?” The man agreed and told her that the paint and ladders that she might need were in the garage. The man’s wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, “Does she realize that the porch goes all the way around the house?” The man replied, “She should. She was standing on the porch.”
A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money. “You’re finished already?” he asked. “Yes,” the blonde answered, “and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats. “Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50. “And by the way,” the blonde added, “that’s not a Porch, it’s a Ferrari.
Well, it made me laugh!!! The old jokes are the best lol.

I hope to see you tonight. If not have a good time wherever you are.

Take care

Hi Guys

I watched The Daily Politics on BBC TV today. It included Prime Ministers question time. I am presently watching the ‘Parliament’  channel.  If I were a politician I would be disgusted at the manner in which they conduct themselves. Children in the playground are far better behaved. It’s more like a ‘political playground’. There is far too much time wasted in ‘backbiting’ and referring to ‘the past’ ie; ” you did this and you did that, we did this this and we did that!”.

In a past blog I referred to footballers kicking a bag of wind around, well the politicians are similar in the fact that they are the bags of wind and it’s a pity we can’t put them on the football pitch and let the footballers kick all the wind and ‘hot air’ out of them (literally speaking) of course.

When are they going to answer a question with an answer?

I think they are a laughing stock who are a’ sarcastic and hipocritical’  body of people who are supposed to represent us the electorate.

They are debating  today on the Publication of the NHS Risk Register,  which will be voted on tonight at 7pm.

How can two bodies of people, over 640 be at such loggerheads and opposite opinions over such National importance.

I lost faith in politicians some time ago and it has been reinforced today.

All they give us is rhetoric. Why not say it as it is? When mistakes are made stand up and admit it and I for one will pay them more respect.

That’s it for now. I got my winge in again thanks to the politicians and is a subject I don’t normally voice an opinion on, but after todays’ disgraceful ‘fiasco’  I decided that I had to voice my absolute disgust.

Take care til next time

Hi Guys

I’m just going to try again to forecast some football results.

Last weekend I predicted 5/1o with 2 correct scores,  Man Utd 2 v 1 Liverpool  and     Sunderland 1 v 2 Arsenal .

These are Sunday’s FA Cup matches with my scores/results forecasts.

Crawley Town 1 v 3 Stoke City . Match Odds are Home win 11/4  Draw 9/4 Away win 21/20

Liverpool 4 v 1 Brighton Hove Albion . Match Odds are Home win 1/4 Draw 9/2 Away win 11/1

Stevenage 1 v 4 Tottenham Hotspur .Match Odds are Home win 8/1 Draw 4/1 Away win 1/3

I think these are easier to forecast than last weeks. If I get these correct then that will be 8/13

Before I sign off, I have a bit of a winge after listening to Gary Neville last weekend making a comment that some Pro footballers were complaining that they had to make a 2 hour round trip to work ie; the training ground or the match. When are these CHILDREN going to grow up. My Mother will be 90 (NINETY) this year and she any many people used to WALK several miles to work, and back. So the modern 21st century Pro footballer earns, (gets) more money in ONE WEEK than most people EARN in several years, winges over having to play  (occasionally) 2 matches (3 hours) per week kicking a bag of wind around between himself and 21 other players, and needs to wear gloves because he needs to keep his poor pretty hands warm because his work rate is OBVIOUSLY SO LOW that his body doesn’t generate sufficient heat to keep them warm, and some have hairstyles that as one ’gay’ guy I know said to me ”mmmmm they look like they’re on the pull”.

Once again I rest my case. I’ve yet to receive a comment on here from anyone of them to ‘defend their corner’.

Until the next time, take care

The gig at The Swan ‘Cavern’ With 2 Necks.

As an ‘Old Git’ from the 60′s it reminded me of the Liverpool ‘Cavern Club’, but this was the  Chorley Swan ’Cavern Club’.

The ‘Beatles’ started playing at the Liverpool ’Cavern Club’ and the rest ‘as they say is history’.

Who knows what band is gonna emerge famously after playing at the Chorley ‘Swan Cavern Club ‘? The man behind the promotions is Chris “?”.

Watch my blogs and I will try to keep U all informed.

While I was there with my business partner Chrissie Fuller @ www.myteamshirts.com and www.mits-online.co.uk  we  took some group photos with some of our facebook friends wearing some of our new Premiership 2/3 way club teamshirts.

The friends I can remember who you will see in the group photos’ were, Jessica Marsh, Julie Anne, Elle Rossall with boyfriend Alex Hesketh and Jack Bennett a Blackburn Rovers fan, the same as me.

We Love MiTeamShirts!

I won’t tell you the clubs cos you should know the home/away shirts now , but here they are visually.

 —

Okay they are Blackburn Rovers, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal in that order. Tell me what U think of them. R they good or bad. FEEDBACK please. There’s a BUTTON says REPLY or COMMENT, so DO IT PLEASE.

The Swan is a favourite place for me and I can highly recommend it, BUT my over 18 friends wanted to drink coke instead of alcohol and they told me they had been refused. So me being me I was able to buy them all a coke with ice. My thanks to Head Barman Jonny for serving me.

In my day of running pubs and doing pub work, soft drinks brought in more ‘profit’ than alcohol, and also the people drinking it are far less likely to cause any trouble cos they’re SOBER,  so it’s a mystery to me why they were refused. These young people have become my friends and I praised them in one of my previous blogs, My good judgement was proved right cos they are the same group of people.

Here they are showing off some of our shirts.

Jessica Marsh, Julie Anne, Elle Rossall, Alex Bennett & Jack Bennett. My thanks to them all.

When I got home from the Swan I was able to catch up with the Darts Premier League on Sky Sports and witnessed Phil ‘the power’ Taylor hitting a 9 dart 501 game against Kevin Painter.

He is still the man to beat, ‘tho Phils’ prodigy Adrian Lewis will eventually take over his mantle, cos he now has the ‘bottle’.

I stopped playing darts 20yrs ago in my amatuer days because I could not find a sponsor, but I played for one season in a league in Blackburn that played 301 instead of 501 and I hit 2 legs of 301 in 6 darts each and was presented by Sky reporter and commentator John Gwynne (he was with Radio Piccadilly at the time)  as “player of the month”.

He wasn’t too pleased that I was the first person to be presented with the trophy outside of Manchester. My claim to fame or my 15 minutes.  What is it with SOME Manchester people? Surely they can’t all be United fans, can they?

Anyway I’m done with my comments and ‘winges’ for this blog and  I’m  gonna get some zzzzzzz’s in, so take care

Before I get into my wingeing blog, @ www.mits-online.co.uk  and my blog @ www.miteamshirts.com  I’d appreciate your opinion on myteamshirts  latest design, so here it is for you to click on to to get a detailed closeup view.

THE INTERNATIONAL MUST HAVE SPORTS SHIRT 2012

We can produce any of the 16 International teams home and away 2-in-1 shirts.

What a close finish to the ODI in Australia this morning. M S Dhoni is a legend, hitting a 6 in the last over and won the match with 3 balls to spare but Ghambir was man – of – the – match with a cracking score of 92. It was great TV!

If u followed my Premiership match forecasts for Saturday I predicted 2 scores correct and 5 correct results from 8.
Below are my forecasts for today Sunday 12 Feb 2012.
Wolves 2 v 2 WBA Betting odds  6/4 Home 15/8 Away 21/10 Draw
Aston Villa 3 v 3 Man City Betting odds 9/2 Home 8/11 Away 9/4 Draw.

If u bet on any scoreline involving  Blackburn Rovers  during the rest of the season, don’t bet on them keeping a clean sheet cos the’ve not had one all season and yet they are the 7th highest goal scorers. Wonder where they would be in the table if they didn’t have a sieve for a defence?
Will it be or will it be  topping the Premiership at the end of the day?

That’s all for now so take care and take it easy

THE INTERNATIONAL MUST HAVE SPORTS SHIRT 2012

We can produce any of the 16 International teams home and away 2-in-1 shirts.

I’ve just watched the highlights of Man Utd 2 v 1 Liverpool (1998/99 FA Cup match on ESPN Classics. Great channel if U R considering getting it. I personally rent from Virgin Media.

How times have changed in 14 seasons.

Brad Friedel was reserve goalkeeper to David James at Liverpool. Jamie Redknapp and Gary Neville are now TV pundits. Roy Keane and Paul Ince have chosen the Management path. Yorkie,  Andy Cole and Ole Solskjaer are retired and there were the up and coming super stars ; Becks, Owen, Fowler, Scholes and Giggsy on show.

As per todays norm, United scored 2 goals in the last 5 minutes to win 2.1. I think it was Uniteds Treble winning season.

Ince by the way was one of the few players to play for both clubs.

Will todays match be a repeat?

Anyway I am gonna try to forecast todays scores and results, so here goes and tell me if U like our designs for UR reversible club team shirts.

Blackburn (Rovers)  2 v 1  QPR (Super Hoops)

Bolton Wanderers (Trotters)  2 v 1 Wigan Athletic  (Latics)

Everton (Toffees) 1 v 1 Chelsea (Pensioners)

Fulham (Cottagers) 2 v 0 Stoke City (Potters)

Man Utd (Red Devils) 2 v 1 Liverpool (Reds)

Sunderland (Black Cats) 1 v 2 Arsenal (Gunners)

Swansea City  (Swans) 3 v 1 Norwich  City (Canaries)

Tottenham Hotspur (Lilywhites/Spurs) 3 v 1 Newcastle Utd (Magpies)

By the end of today we will see.

I’m doing my blog at 6am Sat morning and just watched 5 mins of www.aerobicsozstyle.au (well ok 20 mins).

If they want MiTeamShirts to design their team shirts then u’d better watch this space. Wud B great publicity (for them) lol.

Just to keep U up to date we R in the process of designing two seperate unique shirts (which cud become collectors items) for the Euro 2012 Championships which R being co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine and also the Olympics London 2012. Can U believe that Euro 2012 is covered by Copyright? I couldn’t believe it when I first  saw it. MiTeamShirts R on record as previously stating that Copyright law is a minefield. If we were based abroad then maybe we cud get away with flaunting the Copyright laws, but that’s not what we R about. We R upfront and will do our best to design and produce our/ur shirts for U the fans within the Law, but just how far R we allowed to go cos we want to play it straight? For example, if you want your club logo on your shirt  you can commission/ask  us to include the badge on the shirt which we will gladly do.

I got half a result in Parliament when Blackburn Rovers’ owners were mentioned by the MP for Hyndburn as to whether they were capable of running a Premiership football club. My reply is NO NEVER. I can’t say go back to India, cos they R still based there, but Steve Keane has been reported as having to visit India on a monthly basis to keep them up to date. What kind of Club setup is that?

They will take Rovers’ down into the ‘Championship’ and then sack and blame Steve Keane for it all.

I’ve actually got my ‘Old Git’ winge in at the last minute.

Anyway I’m done for this blog so take care and I hope u footie fans including ME get the results hoped for this weekend.

Hi Guys

Before I get into my wingeing blog, I’d appreciate your opinion on myteamshirts , latest design, so here it is for you to click on to get a detailed closeup view.

THE INTERNATIONAL MUST HAVE SPORTS SHIRT 2012

We can produce any of the 16 International teams home and away 2-in-1 shirts.

Congrats to all you Blackpool seasiders for getting into the next round of the FA Cup by winning really well against Sheffield Wednesday.

Being a Blackburn Rovers fan I applaud you. I want to blame Steve Keane for the demise of ‘Rovers’ and I can’t see them escaping relegation, but I won’t lay the blame solely on his shoulders cos it’s the owners who are to blame by sacking Sam Allardyce when he was doing a good job and would have done even better with the ‘promised’ money to spend  from the new owners. How much have they put into the club since the ‘Walker’ family SOLD OUT? ‘UNCLE JACK’ must be screaming from above.

During the Blackpool match did I see a back pass to the goalkeeper that the ref didn’t see?

Regarding the ‘back pass’ rule, if a defender was on the goal line with the ball and the goalkeeper was in front of him ie; near the penalty spot and the defender passed the ball to the keeper who then picked the ball up, would that be judged to be a back pass, because he is actually passing the ball forward to the goalkeeper or would the ref cop out by saying it was ‘unsportsmanship’?

Come on U REFS give me ur opinion to this blog @www. myteamshirts.com.

Who’s gonna stop Barcelona winning the Copa del Rey?

Spanish la lega  is so different to  the Premiership, and if Barca where in the Premiership I think it would take them at least 3 seasons to win the title because most Spanish players would not get away with their culture of ‘diving’ to gain a free kick or penalty in the Premiership,

Some foreign players do con the ref”s occassionally but not as often as when they first came into the English League.

Remember the stick that Klinsman got when he was at  Spurs?

The crowd gave him so much stick that he soon stopped his diving and became a better player.

When Ronaldo was at  Man Utd and he stopped diving he scored more goals in the season cos he stayed on his feet. He had his highest goal tally in a season at United so again as per usual I rest my case.

Good news that Harry Redknapp is now available for consideration for the England Managers job after Fabio Capello’s resignation.

WHAT A COINCIDENCE!!!!!!

I don’t blame him actually cos if you are employed to run a company, would you want your board to tell you what to do? Why employ you then go over your head by making decisions that they’re employing you to make?

That’s this ‘Old Gits’ thoughts and winge for the blog today.

Take care til’ the next one

Regards Jimbo

Hi Guys

‘Old Git’ Jimbo here again @ www.mits-online.co.uk also @ www.myteamshirts.co.uk

I’m sounding like a radio D J more and more.

I’ve just watched 6 episodes of Apocalypse: World War II back to back on my Virgin TV setup.

There were 50,000,000 people killed because of one Maniac ie; Adolf Hitler during World War II.

I also saw which I was not aware of before that dogs also played a major part in the war.

Did you know that the Russians starved their dogs then placed food underneath vehicles and trained them to get it? After their training they then had bombs strapped onto both sides of the dogs body just like pack mules but also with a remote controlled detonator.

When a German tank came into view they would release the dog which would then go under the tank searching for it’s next meal and SADLY and UNKNOWINGLY it would be blown up along with the tank and the film actually showed it happening.

Without being FLIPPANT or UNFEELING I wonder if the term ‘It’s a DOGS LIFE’ or ‘DOGS OF WAR’ comes from this episode from World War II?

Still on  The Second World War theme, there were several Aircraft Carriers sunk and it reminded me of the time approx 12 years ago while I was a carer for my Dad, who has since passed away. I used to take him to a pub in Chorley called ‘The George’. It was a pub where many of the war veterans used to meet during the day and ’chew the fat’. They were always taking the ‘P’ out of each other in a friendly way.

My Dad was in the Royal Navy and one of his’ duties’ was in the ‘crow’s nest’ up high on a Carrier with high powered binoculars looking out to sea for German Submarine periscopes.

Dad always said to the guys in the pub that he had excellent eyesight, so one day while ‘chewin the fat’ Dad let it slip that he had been torpedoed twice during the war but was still alive. So one old soldier got the pub in an uproar when he said ‘FEKKIN  HELL JIMMY your eyes weren’t that fekkin good were they?’

Sadly those days have gone and I personally miss them.

Please feel free to send me your stories, they’ll be most welcome.

Before I go I hope you have noticed me ‘POSING’ on our website in the ‘GOONERS’   home and away team shirt. They’re not quite ready for you yet but soon will be along with all the other teams. So this ’Old Git’  will be posing again quite soon.

Just keeping you up todate.

Once again it’s another blog done from this ‘Old Git’.

Take care

Jimbo
